After a small break from playing due to some weather conflicts last week, the Ballahs were back at it last night. With that, there’s good news and bad news to report…
Good news is that we had 3 amazing, out-of-the-park home runs! Two from Jon Wright and another one by coach Vance.
Bad news is that only one of them were able to count in our favor…
O well, they were still pretty awesome and that softball rule of ‘quid pro quo’ regarding homeruns is for the birds!
Kicking the game off with 5 runs, Ballahs were feeling good and sitting pretty. Or so we thought! They came out a bit slower starting than us but before we knew it the game was all tied up and our play wasn’t exactly improving at a pace we needed to turn up the heat.
We had a lot of hustle from the outfield. This was especially apparent after about two or three rounds of the other team smacking balls just enough to the right or left of wherever Dave was, causing him to be in a constant state of running motion. That boy was sweatin’ like a priest at altar boy camp, whoo-ee!
But even with the outfield team work, cross field, bullet paced ball-throwing, hard hit batting and the running speeds of a freight train, we were unable to pull out with a win. Whomp-whomp…
It’s all good though Ballahs, we’ll get back into our groove and hopefully see more consistency with the weather in order to get this team back on the track of kickin’ ass and taking names! Next week we need to show team ’Parrot Heads’ who’s captain, and send them wing-clipped, off the plank. See everyone there on Thursday, May 13th @ 7:30.
